Overview
Impactful work requires more than just documenting the activities of TIH but rather, it requires effective communication to share the components of the organization, its vision and influence. In producing a micro-documentary, an accurate, dignified and compelling story could be told of the founder, the beneficiaries of TIH, and their work together which supports refugees to rebuild their lives anew.
Services
- Filming on location – Chembe travelled to the Dzeleka Refugee Camp, where we spent several days familiarizing ourselves with the lives of refugees. We also observed the activities of TIH at their education centre. For this micro-documentary, two residents of the Dzeleka Camp were interviewed to share their experiences as refugees.
- Editing & production – The film was edited, translations were done and subtitles were added.

TIH is an organization born out of the lived reality of what it means to be a refugee. Founded by Innocent Magambi, a Burundian refugee, this organization works to ignite a ‘chain of hope’ among refugees. This is done in practical ways by equipping refugees living in the Dzeleka refugee camp outside Lilongwe (Malawi) and the local Malawian community with income-generating skills. In doing so, TIH dispels the myths and misconceptions about the needs of refugees and provides a unique approach to helping these individuals find their path towards dignity, respect and an enhanced livelihood.
